(Sequel to .Hack//Epsilon)

Chapter 1 New Start

1 year later

"LUKE!" yelled the teacher, but there was no reply. 'He's been absent since that day' thought Ana, as she patiently sat in her seat. No one had seen or heard from Luke since Gospel's demise. As a matter of fact, things hadn't been that great since they defeated Gospel. The one-winged Aero had disappeared, Luke hadn't contacted anyone, and no one could contact him. If that wasn't enough, Forts and Keiti had gotten sent over to France to work for their FBI. The rest of the group had split up and had their own responsibilities. 'The World' wasn't even that fun any more. All you did was log on, kill a few monsters, maybe go into a few dungeons and then log off. It just didn't feel like it use to. To be honest, it was kinda weird.

Luke could hear yelling coming from in the room. He hated this place. He had to share a room with Twenty-five other kids, and they weren't even kids around his age. They were elementary kids. He had been living for these kids since that day, in fact, it was exactly a year ago that he had witnessed his uncle getting arrested and then receiving the death penalty. He loathed this place, the Orphanage.

"Tony, your so beautiful!" exclaimed Brittney, as she flung her arms around the boy sitting beside her. Tony smiled, as he also threw his arms around Brittney. She had pretty much blown everyone off since they had defeated Gospel. Within that next week, she had started going out with Tony. She now spent all of her time with him and she hadn't logged in as Mythril since.

"AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!" shrieked the smallest little baby of them all. Barbara ran hurriedly ran over to the baby and picked it up. She then ran to the bathroom to change a diaper. Her daycare had been booming! She had to hire six new workers. She didn't have time for anything else.

"PLANE RIDES SUCK!!!!!" yelled Forts. "Chill Jordan," said Keiti, admiring her new eyebrow ring, "we just got our old jobs back. We only have four hours left till we touchdown back home." Jordan again let out a scream, as Keiti just laughed. People were complaining as the flight attendants were making there way back to quiet her down.

There was a foul stench in the air. 'Man, one of the kids got sick last night' thought Luke as he got out of bed. Once again, he was the only one up. He jumped out of bed, as his feet touched the stone cold floor. He walked out the door, and down the hallway, and through the next door to the kitchen. He went up to the counter and the lady said, " Good Morning Luke!" "Good Morning, Miss. Gene!" He replied, as he went through the line and got some food.

Luke was heading to the table and noticed that their was Mrs. Hatshed, the manager of the orphanage, and a man whom Luke hadn't seen before. "Luke over here!" said Mrs. Hatshed. Luke walked over to that side of the table and took a seat. "Good Morning Mrs. Hatshed! I hope that everything is going smooth." said Luke as he started eating his bacon and eggs. "Oh yes! They certainly are Luke! This man here is wanting to adopt one of you!" she said with great enthusiasm. "Cool, so is it Cody, Nick, Charlotte, or one of the others?" asked Luke. "Neither of them, He wants to adopt you!" She said. "Oh, okay." said Luke, "but why?" The man looked a little funny but said, "Well I have a daughter and I wanted a teenage son, to show her what kind of boys she should be dating. She won't go out with anyone, she seems kinda depressed. So I'm worried who she might date."

"Fine with me, I just want to stop living with twenty-five elementary aged kids." said Luke with a slight chuckle. The man laughed and said, " I'm going to sign the paper work, you go on and get ready, and we'll go get you stuff." "Alright," said Luke, as he finished his breakfast, and made his way back to the room. He changed clothes, brushed his teeth, combed his hair and made his way up to the office.

He took a seat outside the office. They usually didn't like the kids being in there. The man and Mrs. Hatshed came out after a bit. He stood up and gave Mrs. Hatshed a hug while he said, "Goodbye." She also said "Goodbye!" Luke and his new 'Dad' walked out of the door. "Hey, you never told me your name." said Luke. "Well, I want you to call me dad if that is okay." he said. " I know, but I want to at least know your last name." Luke said. "Well, then, I guess I can tell you. My name is Dan Berry." "Okay,” said Luke as they stepped into Mr. Berry's silver BMW Z3.

Aero landed on the ground with a thud. This world was unfamiliar to him, but one thing about it was. 'There's no way thats him!' thought Aero, as he stared down a familiar looking twin blade, but only a slight bit different.
